The color/finish of this model is Burnt & Oiled. The wood is burnt first with a very hot flame and then a Hand Rubbed Natural Oil finish is applied to the burnt surface directly afterwords to seal in the rustic beauty.
This Rocking Horse is a very durable friendly riding toy. It’s balanced so that when a young child is positioned on the horse he or she is slid forward to hold onto the handle for better security. This also helps prevent sitting back too far which raises the potential for falling off the horse. "THE PUZZLE-MAN TOYS®" does not put a foot rest on the rocking horse for a very young child to position their feet on, since at a very young age, a child's leg muscles are very strong, and would give them the ability to force rock the Rocking Horse and maybe throw themselves off. As the child grows, their feet will eventually reach down to the rocker, at which point they then will have control to move the rocker across the floor.
There are no stringy fibrous materials to allow a young child to choke on, as well as no padded seats to get sliced up or tore. All are precut, finished, assembled, safe, sturdy, and water-resistant. The colors are non-toxic stain-like impregnated finishes.
"THE PUZZLE-MAN TOYS®" Rocking Horses are very sturdily built. They are capable of holding up to 300 lbs. safely. If really abused, they recommend only up to 150 lbs., which means you’d want to limit that kind of use to young children. Rocking Horses are also purchased for adult interior decorating purposes and they sometimes get utilized by adults in a fun way, which may also cause some abuse, so be careful.
